Are licensed, bonded, and insured?

We are license, bonded, and insured and can provide all this paperwork upon request. Our license number is #BC751396.

Why choose Oakman Construction & Remodeling LLC over other companies?

Unlike some general contractors, our GC has had a lot of hands-on experience in a variety of contractor work. We truly enjoy helping people bring the vision in their mind to life and try to fully communicate every aspect and be truly straight up with projects, even if it’s something you may not want to hear. We pride ourselves in being transparent and delivering a product that exceeds expectations.

What will my project timeline be?

Every project is very customized so this varies depending on the scope, materials, permits, weather, etc. We coordinate every aspect to be as efficient as possible and will discuss timelines when we have the initial consultation.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes.

Will there be any material or pricing changes once the project begins?

The materials and labor in the estimate are locked in once you approve it. However, if you choose to make changes to the design or finishes, we do not guarantee that the price will stay the same.

Can I request changes during the project?

Yes, of course you can request changes! We want you to be happy with your project, but keep in mind that requesting changes that will require new permits, materials, or labor once everything is approved will push the schedule back so additional fees will have to be charged. If you already approved the estimate but we have not ordered materials or applied for permits, you can let us know ASAP so we can input those changes and you can approve the revised estimate. If – for example – you really don’t like the railing you chose and it has already been installed, we can change it for you but it will include the removal, materials/delivery, and full installation cost. Change orders can also come up when hidden problems are uncovered that couldn’t have been seen on the initial meeting. We usually discuss what may come up and sometimes include it as a “possible” line item so you could expect what it may cost. An example of this can be rotten floors under tile – we would include the cost to replace the subfloor in the estimate.

Do you offer debris removal for the project?

We cleanup and do debris removal before (if needed) and after the project.

How often will I be updated on the status of my project?

You’ll be updated as much as you want through text, phone call, or email. We reach out to you when major labor items are going to be completed, when they are completed, whether there are any changes that need to be made, how the permit process is going, how cute your pets were that day, etc.
